Tax Manager

What do we need?

A senior level CPA with at least (5) years of tax preparation or public accounting experience. Self-motivated, communicator, with an undeniable work ethic and desire to grow. An individual who puts family ahead of work and wants to have fun in the workplace. Great people skills, ability to learn on your feet, and a drive to succeed will take you as far as you want to go with our firm!


Are you qualified?

Successful candidates require a bachelor's degree in accounting and a valid CPA certificate. At least five years of previous experience in the public accounting realm, managing a client base, and tax preparation or audit preferred.  Quick Books and/or ProSystems (Axcess Tax) experience a plus. Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with experience & education.


What will you be doing?

Employee will be expected to prepare personal, partnership and corporate tax returns, gather data from clients and organize data for preparation. Need to be able to analyze information provided by client to determine if additional information is required. Candidate will be meeting with tax clients to gather tax information, ask questions and answer client’s questions regarding various tax topics. Daily duties will also include tax research, assisting with bookkeeping and payroll (primarily in QuickBooks) as needed, and preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements. We are at full capacity, so new hire will be growing their client base relatively quickly as we bring on more new clients. Will have open door access to partners and other CPAs in the firm.

Successful candidates require a bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA certificate preferred, or must be a candidate for the CPA exam. Prior experience in tax preparation, or in public accounting in general preferred but not required.  Quick Books and/or ProSystems (Axcess Tax) experience a plus. Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with experience & education.

Seasonal Tax Preparer - Washington

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our tax department as a seasonal tax preparer. Great opportunity for recurring seasonal employment if the job is a fit for you.


Are you qualified?

Detail oriented individuals, who can self-manage, and are committed to quality product. Previous professional tax preparation experience a plus but not required. Great communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are a must. Previous experience with computers is a must, need to be able to navigate new software relatively quickly as all our software is primarily cloud based (time & billing, tax software, document storage and email). Highschool Diploma or GED required.


What will you be doing?

Employee will be expected to prepare personal tax and/or business tax returns. The position is seasonal in nature and will require employment from late January to April. The individual will be responsible for preparing tax returns, file organization, entering data into the tax software, responding to review notes from partners/client managers and following up with clients regarding outstanding information and/or questions.

Location: Washington, IA
Pay: $12 - $25 / hour depending on experience
